ETC 4* PROPERTY

Description

Lakelovers is the premium holiday letting agency for the Cental and South Lakes, with almost 400 properties to choose from. The following property is a particulary fine example from our Grasmere portfolio...

This romantic, character cottage (recently painted by Judy Boyes, popular Lakeland artist) handsomely resides in a secluded, picturesque setting on the lower slopes of Stone Arthur - part of the Fairfield range - with magnificent views over the Vale of Grasmere towards Silver Howe. The famous 'Lion & the Lamb' watches over this special hideaway.

A short stroll (passing an excellent pub serving good food and fine ales) will bring you into Grasmere village, full of great eating-out places, tearooms and local shops.

Straight from the door of this cottage walks are in abundance - including to Alcock Tarn, nestling in the fell rising steeply from the garden. When you catch sight of the view you will understand how the mountains seem so close you can almost touch them. Aptly named, this original 19th century coach house is beautifully presented, and furnished to an excellent standard with lots of space and light. We think you will find this a place you will never wish to leave. The romantic bedrooms are delightful, with the 'Romeo & Juliet' balcony out of the four-poster bedroom having to be seen to be fully appreciated.

If you yearn for Lakeland luxury in a wonderful location complete with a view that remains with you long after you have left, then look no further - The Coach House is for you.

The accommodation comprises: a traditional stone entrance porch leading into a bright, cosy lounge with beamed ceiling, and a stunning full-room-width picture window enjoying a panoramic view across the Vale of Grasmere to the Easedale fells beyond. Leather furnishings allow you to savour the vista in comfort and by a warming woodburning stove from January 2010. The kitchen/dining room is very well equipped and also boasts the panorama from the dining table. State-of-the-art Bosch ovens with programmes and bespoke recipes simplify the creation of perfect meals making 'eating-in' much easier and more fun. The garden room at the rear has French doors opening into the delightful cottage garden - a real feature, being stocked with an array of colour. If you want to 'escape from it all' then this is the spot. At night (as hiking gear is dried and warmed in the drying room) fully-made-up wall-beds hidden within the furnishings gently drop down in seconds and the garden room becomes a comfortable twin bedroom with en suite w/c. Upstairs both pretty double bedrooms have spectacular views with the four-poster room providing a wonderful balcony adorned by climbing red roses. The luxurious bathroom (with double-ended jacuzzi/whirlpool bath, underfloor heating, and hi-fi music system), and separate double shower area in the wet room will soothe and pamper. Outside - with the sound of a babbling stream in the background - there is garden furniture in which you can relax and absorb the sweet fragrances of buddlea and lavender, while being entertained by the constant flow of woodland birds. Red squirrels and deer live in the neighbouring forest, and are often seen.

On the elevated sun terrace to the front of the cottage, table and chairs allow you to take it easy, and simply soak in the scenery while you dine in the warm rays of the afternoon sun until it sets over the fells.

Mr & Mrs Smith, May 2009 - "Just had to say a big thank you for the wonderful holiday we have been able to have at your beautiful property, The Coach House. We were completely blown away by the location & all the facilities and comfort you provide at the cottage. We could want for nothing, and when you have a view of such beauty simply from your four poster bed each morning, life just can't get any better".
